At Te Tiratū, we’re proud to support Te Wiki Hauora – Wāhine Women’s Health Week 2024 — because our wāhine deserve to be seen, heard, and well.
This week is about more than awareness. It’s about reminding every woman — cis, trans, and gender-diverse — that your health matters, your story matters, and your hauora is worth prioritising.
Across the motu, wāhine are doing the mahi — juggling whānau, mahi, care roles, and community leadership — often putting themselves last. That has to change.
Wāhine Māori face some of the biggest health inequities in Aotearoa. But they also carry the strength, wisdom, and leadership to change the story. Te Tiratū backs this kaupapa because we know that when wāhine are well, their whānau, hapori, and mokopuna flourish too.
This week, let’s kōrero. Let’s ask the hard questions, book the overdue check-ups, listen to our bodies, and support each other. Let’s make health a collective responsibility, not an individual burden.
Because our wāhine are the heart of our communities. And their wellbeing can’t wait.
