Te Tiratū Iwi Māori Partnership Board is proud to back Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) – an important kaupapa for our people.
Led by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, MHAW is a time to kōrero, reflect, and take small steps that support our mental wellbeing — individually and collectively. Each year, the campaign offers a fresh theme, practical resources, and community-led activities that help reduce stigma and strengthen our understanding of mental health.
For Te Tiratū, this week is also about honouring the mātauranga and cultural strengths that support oranga wairua — spiritual and mental wellbeing — especially for our Māori and Pasifika whānau.
Let’s come together this September to uplift each other, listen deeply, and take care of our minds, hearts, and communities. Because mental wellbeing is a taonga — and it belongs to all of us.
